FAQs
About the Wedding
How do the gondola passes work?
1
Each guest will receive 2 gondola passes valid on August 8. Each pass is valid for 2 round trips on the gondola for a total of 4 round trips. For those that are bringing kids and may need to ride the gondola more times, we can arrange additional trips. Please let us know if you think this may be you.
What is Summit Fest?
2
Summit Fest is a Crystal Mountain event that will be happening concurrently with our wedding. Our wedding guests will have free access to this event with wristbands you will receive upon arrival. Summit Fest includes marshmallow roasting, live music, and telescopes to check out the meteor shower! For more information on last year’s Summit Fest line-up, check out Crystal Mountain’s 2025 event page and summary. We appreciate our guests wanting to stay with the wedding festivities, but we encourage you to check out Summit Fest as well. This is a unique experience and we encourage everyone to make the most of their time on the mountain, whatever that may mean for you!
What is the dress code?
3
We are calling the dress code for this wedding “mountaintop semi-formal.” That means dress pretty, but dress practical!
Please wear shoes that can handle uneven terrain (i.e. wedges or flats, rather than stilettos). During the ceremony, we are likely to be in direct sun, so you may want to bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc.
Dancing in the evening under the Perseid meteor shower, we will be out in the open air at the summit. Once the sun sets, it may become very chilly and we recommend guests to bring whatever they need to stay warm. Option to bring sweatpants and sweatshirts to stay cozy under the stars! Pajama party anyone?! We will sure be changing into something more comfy later in the night! :)
Is your wedding kid-friendly?
4
You know it is! Your kiddos are an important part of our life and community too! Please bring them.
During the ceremony, there will be an opportunity for all kids present to participate in a children’s flower parade! Stay tuned for more details on that. If you want your kiddos taking part, please let us know!
At dinner, we will have high chairs and a kid’s menu available. And when it comes to the reception, we’re working with the venue to provide some additional entertainment.
Please let us know if you have kid related questions or concerns.
What’s on the menu?
5
We’re working with the venue to finalize our food menu. We will update the site as soon as more information is available. Please provide your email when you RSVP. We will share many important updates with our guests via email, including vegan, vegetarian, and kid-friendly options.
Will there be a Welcome Dinner?
6
Yes! On Friday, August 7th, the parents of the bride (Rick & Bridget) have generously offered to host a meet-and-greet dinner for those traveling from afar and staying in mountain lodging. Please let us know if you would like to attend in your RSVP. We will provide more details on time and location soon!
Is there transport between the airport and Crystal Mountain?
7
We are considering organizing a shuttle for those flying in. This would require a lot of coordination by our guests to try and arrive at similar times. When you RSVP, please share your flight information if you are interested in a potential shuttle and we will see if we can arrange a shuttle.
